Merchant Processing

Retail, eCommerce, ACH, and high-risk processing

For businesses that need a standalone merchant account, Top Choice Payments works with Luqra to set up in-person, online, and bank (ACH) payments, including for high-risk industries.

Merchant processing, gateway, ACH, and high-risk accounts are provided by Luqra and its banking partners. Top Choice Payments is an independent sales agent.

Retail and in-person processing

Card-present processing for storefronts, counters, and mobile sales: countertop terminals, POS setups, and mobile card readers. We help match equipment to how you check customers out.

  • Chip, tap, and swipe acceptance
  • Countertop, wireless, and mobile options
  • Help with setup and training

Payment gateway and eCommerce

Accept cards online through a payment gateway: on your website checkout, through invoices and payment links, or by keying phone orders into a virtual terminal.

  • Website checkout and shopping cart connections
  • Virtual terminal for phone and mail orders
  • Invoices, payment links, and recurring billing options

ACH (bank) payments

Let customers pay straight from a bank account. ACH is common for recurring billing, invoices, and larger payments.

  • One-time and recurring bank payments
  • Requires proper customer authorization under Nacha rules
  • Availability and funding timing depend on underwriting and the provider

High-risk merchant accounts

Banks and card networks treat some industries or business histories as higher risk. We help these businesses apply for a high-risk merchant account through Luqra.

Every application is underwritten by the processor. Approval is not guaranteed, and requirements and terms for high-risk accounts are set by the processor and can differ from standard accounts.

More about high-risk processing

Dual pricing and surcharge programs

Some businesses show customers two prices, a cash price and a card price (dual pricing). Others add a surcharge to credit card transactions. These programs can change how card costs are shared with customers, but they come with rules.

  • Card brand rules apply, including required customer notices, receipt disclosures, and caps on surcharge amounts.
  • Surcharges generally cannot be added to debit or prepaid card transactions.
  • State laws vary. Some states restrict or prohibit surcharging, and rules change over time.
  • Whether a program fits depends on your industry, your customers, and where you do business.

We will explain how each program works and what it requires so you can decide. This is general information, not legal advice. Check the current rules for your state before you start a program.
